Fr. Geoffrey Burke      1856  –   1858

Fr Geoffrey Burke was born in 1824 near Irishtown and was ordained in 1849. He was made CC in Aughnagower in August 1849. He came to Skehana from Aughnagower in 1856 at the age of 32. In 1864 Fr Burke was PP in Dunmore. Upon leaving Dunmore in 1866 a testimonial was held for him which netted £50 – 2s – 6d. In 1868 he was PP in Turlough (Outside Castlebar). In 1870 he was PP in Keelogues. In 1873 he was PP in Ballindine an was still there until July of 1881 when he was transferred as PP of Corofin (Cummer). He remained in Corofin until his death on May 23rd. 1890 at the age of 66 years.
