Fr. John O’Gorman is a native of Tuam, Co. Galway. He was ordained in 1980 and was appointed as Adm. to Innisboffin by the then Archbishop of Tuam, Dr. Joseph Cunnane. In 1983 he was appointed, again by Archbishop Cunnane, as CC to Recess, Co. Galway, and he would, later in the 1980s, be appointed as CC to Barnacarroll, Co. Mayo. In 1998 he was appointed as CC to Athenry and following this was promoted to the position of parish priest of Letterfrack. When Fr. Sean Kilbane retired as parish priest in Menlough in 2007 Fr. John O’Gorman was appointed as his replacement. As and from September 29th. 2017 Fr. John O’Gorman has been appointed  as PP of the parish of Lackagh.
