Teresa Cleary patient of Bina Kelly

Teresa Cleary, Kilconnell, County Galway

Teresa’s son, Peter, originally contacted our heritage group when we put a request out for a photograph of Bina Kelly. Peter sent in a beautiful photograph of Bina as the chat went back and forth his mother, Teresa, agreed to do an interview for the project.

Teresa is a wonderful lady who kindly gave an interview about her community midwife, Bina Kelly. Teresa is originally from Milltown Co. Galway and has a wonderful love of poetry and the written word. During the interview she recites a poem she learned as a child at school about Milltown.

In this interview Teresa talks about her experience delivering her babies at home with community midwife Bina Kelly, Kilconnell. Teresa describes what it was like to be a patient of Bina’s and her experience of delivering her babies at home. Teresa’s son, Peter, also partakes in the interview.
