Fr. Patrick J Murphy     1919 – 1923

Fr Patrick Murphy was a native of Dunmore. He was ordained on June 11th. 1905. His first curacy was in Port in Glasgow, ministering then in Ac.hill. He then moved to Headford, next to Carna and came to Skehana in 1919. In 1923 he was transferred to Monivea. His next ministry was in Milltown in or about 1926 and then in Ballyhaunis, until, in May 1938, he was appointed P.P. of Ballindine. He passed away in Ballindine in 1945

In his will Rev. Patrick J. Murphy, Ballindine, Co. Mayo left £2,066. He left £150 to Annie Stenson, if still in his service; a few small legacies, and the residue to his brothers, James, Gabriel and John.
